About John Nugus

John Nugus is a highly experienced physiotherapist with extensive expertise in managing spinal pain and sports injuries across the UK and Australia. He holds a Master of Science in Pain (MSc Pain) from King’s College London and a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (B. Pthy) from the University of Queensland, Australia. He is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (MHCPC) and is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP), the Irish Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MIASP), and the Pilates Professionals Association (MPPA). John is also a fully certified Pilates instructor through the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI).

He specialises in the management of complex pain presentations, including chronic spinal pain and movement dysfunction, posture-related back, neck and limb pain, headaches, sports injury management (particularly running-specific rehabilitation), and pre/post-surgical rehabilitation.

John has worked in neuro-rehabilitation, orthopaedics, and musculoskeletal physiotherapy and has served as a Senior Lecturer for APPI, training physiotherapists in Pilates. He was an Honorary Research Fellow at The Brompton Hospital, London, focusing on the relationship between musculoskeletal physiotherapy and dysfunctional breathing. John has also worked as Head Physiotherapist for the Saurashtra first-class cricket team in India and provided physiotherapy and mental training for polar explorer Parker Liautaud during his record-setting Antarctic expedition.

He combines manual therapy skills with Pilates-based rehabilitation to provide individualised treatment and reduce injury recurrence. In his spare time, John runs marathons, hikes long-distance trails, learns Spanish, and travels extensively.
