About Martine Cooper

Martine Cooper is a highly experienced musculoskeletal physiotherapist with over 20 years of clinical expertise in spinal, upper limb, and lower limb rehabilitation. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy from the University of East London, where she graduated with first-class honours. Martine is a Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP), the Health and Care Professions Council (MHCPC), and the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MAACP). She is also a Workstation Ergonomist registered with the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (I.O.S.H).

Martine has built her career across both the NHS and private sectors, working in esteemed hospitals such as Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, as well as in private clinics and medical centres throughout London. Her extensive experience has allowed her to develop a deep understanding of musculoskeletal dysfunctions and ergonomic-related conditions.

Her specialist areas include the management of spinal, upper, and lower limb conditions linked to biomechanical or lifestyle factors, as well as pre- and post-surgical rehabilitation of the shoulder and spine. Martine has a particular interest in Occupational Related Upper Limb Disorders (W.R.U.L.D), posture-related back and neck pain, and tension-related headaches.

Committed to continuous professional development, Martine has completed numerous postgraduate courses in acupuncture, manual therapy and manipulation, Clinical Pilates, and specialist shoulder rehabilitation. Her close collaboration with leading upper limb and spinal surgeons in London has further enhanced her expertise in complex shoulder and spinal conditions.

In addition to her clinical work, Martine provides ergonomic consultancy, advising on workplace assessments and injury prevention strategies. She has also contributed extensively to professional education, writing several articles on musculoskeletal health and ergonomics for the London City Physiotherapy website.
