About Paul Brookland-Williams

Paul Brookland-Williams is an accomplished Physiotherapist, Pilates Instructor, and Personal Trainer with nearly 20 years of experience in Pilates teaching and rehabilitation. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy and has achieved multiple professional certifications in both clinical and equipment-based Pilates. His credentials include STOTT Level 2 Matwork and Reformer Certification, APPI Equipment Certification (Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, and Barrels), Pilates Institute Matwork Diploma, Body Control Matwork Certification, and the YMCA Personal Trainer Award.

Paul previously held a senior position at the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI), London’s leading centre for Pilates education, where he trained and mentored other instructors. His extensive experience and physiotherapy background allow him to take a fully integrated approach to Pilates, specialising in injury treatment and prevention, postural alignment, and functional fitness training.

In his sessions, Paul focuses on tailoring every program to meet individual needs and abilities, combining clinical insight, movement efficiency, and core stability training. His deep understanding of body mechanics and rehabilitation principles enables clients to improve movement control, strength, and flexibility while reducing the risk of injury.

Before becoming a physiotherapist and Pilates instructor, Paul spent 14 years as a professional performer and award-winning choreographer in theatre, where he developed a deep appreciation for physical expression and movement precision. This performance background enhances his teaching style, blending technical expertise with creativity and body awareness.

Paul now brings this unique combination of clinical knowledge, performance experience, and teaching excellence to London City Pilates, where he helps clients achieve improved posture, strength, and overall wellbeing through individually designed Pilates programs.
